"He asked, she said, 'Yes!'"
Sarah Marie Bechtol and Kenneth Lee Holmes will be married on the 25th day of July in the year of our Lord 2009.
Kenny Holmes and Sarah Bechtol met on May 5th, 2008! They didn't start really talking until the day following but Sarah's roommate Leslie Linderleaf has been known to say the following: "It was obvious that Sarah and Kenny were destined to be together! There was a definite spark!" Leslie decided that she wanted another tattoo and so Adam VanKirk (one of Kenny's oldest friends), Adrienne Heileger (Sarah's friend, Leslie's former roommate), Sarah Bechtol, and Kenny Holmes all went to give moral support to Leslie. Kenny, as he normally does, gets bored very easily and quickly. Kenny went outside, changed his cell phone plan and then went back inside, got bored again, and this time Sarah showed her interest and they went outside to talk!
Sarah and Kenny found out that they had a lot in common: 1) That they are both conservatives. 2) They are both Lutherans. (Sarah WELS, Kenny, Missouri). 3) They are both Irish! Etcetera... They hit it off quite well and continued on with the evening! The next day Kenny had to go back to his area of Northern Indiana. However, that did not stop Sarah and Kenny from talking to one another! Kenny went to Montana with his parents because he wanted to spend time with them since he just got back from Iraq, and Sarah and Kenny texted more than Kenny talked to his parents. There was something special going on in the hearts and minds of those two!
Kenny made it home from Montana and the first thing he did was make sure to see Sarah! Sarah was in town visiting her parents in South Bend. Her parents dropped her off and her dad can be quoted saying, "I was kinda worried about dropping my daughter off with this strange guy, that seemed nice, but was still worried." Well, Sarah and Kenny went to Famous Dave's BBQ, enjoyed their first date dinner together and Kenny knew that it was all good and that she was the one!
Kenny decided that after six months of knowing Sarah, and talking to her for at least an hour every night that it was time to get Sarah's parents approval... Kenny went to her parent's house as nervous as nervous could be and asked for their permission - and he got an emphatic "Yes!"
On the 18th day of November, in the year of our Lord, 2008; Kenneth Lee Holmes and Sarah Marie Bechtol went to a sushi bar (that had no alcohol), and then we took a walk across the foot bridge over the Wabash River in Lafayette to West Lafayette. As they walked they talked, and they hugged, and they gave each other kisses! As they got up to the fountain, Kenny gave Sarah some change to throw into and he faked having to tie his shoe, but instead grabbed the diamond ring he bought for Sarah, and told her to turn around! The rest is and will be history!!!
